Rulers name & His Reign: Reza Shah Pahlavi (AD 1925-1941)Mint: Tehran 1306 SH (AD 1927)Metal & Denomination: Silver 5000 Dinars Size: 36 mm. Weight: 23 gr.Obverse: The legend: Pahlavi Shahanshah Iran above the bust of the shah facing right. On his right "Julus" on his left "Azar 1304" is a reference to his enthronement year. The date is right at the bottom.Reverse: legend 5000 Dinars below the sun and lion holding a sword with the crown on top center.Reference: KM # 1106 This type is not listed in KM)Notes: This is the first year for minting of this type. Please notice that the King's name Reza, does not appear on this type, only his title. There is no English letter on the reverse indicates that the mint is Tehran. Of this type there is a Leningrad mint indicated by English letter "L" (see Item 1805) and still there is a Heaton (Birmingham)mint with English letter "H" (see Item 1804).
