| Description: |
From one of the last coins ever issued by an independant jewish state in ancient times, during the revolt of Simon Bar Kochba against the Romans in 130 AD. After the Romans put it down they scattered the jews all over the ancient world (the Diaspora) whence they were not to return until after the Second World War. The arrangement of the decorative granules around the bezel is meant to recall the Star of David. |
