Name: 1926-D 5C
Description: A frosty, sparkling gem with strong lustre that supports a wealth of rich gold and orange
toning on the obverse, with equally rich lilac and rose on the reverse. While not fully
struck, the present 1926-D Buffalo nickel certainly comes closer to that category than the
vast majority of specimens extant. Virtually all of the head, beard, and chest hair
details are present on the familiar American bison, with just a hint of weakness seen at
the lowest point of the shoulder details. Always in demand in virtually any grade, with
Mint State specimens especially desirable. Among Mint State specimens, the present coin
stands high above the majority by virtue of its strong strike and considerable eye
appeal.PCGS Population: 18; 1 finer (MS-67).
Price: $10,925.00 (2006-01-03)
