Name: 1854 Kellogg & Co. $20 gold. K-2. Rarity-4.
Description: Rolling lustre moves across the deep golden surface of this sharp and attractive specimen.
Rich orange highlights grace the recessed area, serving to frame the devices. Some
scattered marks are present, as might be expected from such a large gold coin that enjoyed
the hustle and bustle of Gold Rush-era California, the most noticeable of these marks near
stars four and six. Not necessarily a great rarity in the realm of California private
gold, but still a variety with immense popularity that always equates to intense bidding
activity.
Price: $4,900.00 (2004-01-05)
