| Description: |
Weingartner 98 - CuAhlen, a small mining town in Westphalia, is one of the rarest and most difficult German town coins to obtain. It only issued coins three times from 1584 through 1616. In VG-F condition, another example of this coin sold for nearly $500 in June 2004. Date is unreadable on this but the shield variety and scallops on the reverse around VI peg it to the 1584 date. |
